The Torrent Valley

To get to Good Enough Farm from the Main Road one must enter the driveway and go down the hill, across a tiny flat and then up a hill again.  If you can imagine this, then you can imagine that given the right weather conditions one ends up with something akin to a torrent valley.  So, if I venture out into the back woods I can follow all the run off:

We stopped here for a Parasitic Growth of Some Sort:

Until we come to where it forms a lake at the Railroad  Tracks:
I only ventured far enough into the lake to confirm that it was at least past the ankle of my boot.  Beyond that I cannot say.

If you promise not to tell anyone I will confess to being totally lost from following all the twists and turns and only found the way back to my own house through the woods because I could hear Ronny adding water to the duck's pool.  I was never so glad for stinky duck water in my life!

Craig joined me for an excursion down to our little stream, and it was flowing so fast all the pictures came out blurred and unrecognizable. But we did look at the sky and some of my favorite trees.  For some reason I always hear someone singing "humpty back camels"  when I look at them.*)

So, we survived the torrential downpour of the last three days.  We are flooded and drenched and wet and glad for every last drop of it.

*This is apparently a subconscious reference to The Unicorn Song, the lyrics of which can be found at
