Complaints

I've received complaints about the sheer volume of my blogging.  Apparently, some nameless souls out there are unable to keep up with my brilliance.  I forgive you.  But, in deference to your difficulties, today I shall be brief.

I shall not complain about my lack of femininity.  I shall not bemoan that the little things I do to enhance my grace and delicate beauty (*snort*) often are not able to offset the deficits I am burdened with.  I shall let the picture say the thousand words it is oft reputed to do.

Okay, I break my silence!  Huge lump on left ankle still.  Battle scars from Weed Eater.  Bruises up and down my legs and on my ankles.  I try to balance these out with nail polish and an ankle bracelet, but I don't think it's working.

  1. Yeah, I thought you were brilliant until I saw how you tore up your ankles with the weed eater.

I can't even come close to keeping up your blog pace. I'm wondering though are these really scars from work or are you sitting at your desk all day thinking about your blog post? I think this photo is enhanced.

  2. I actually think you should post more. I love reading about your farm. I post almost every day to my blog, sometimes twice.

  3. @Kpannabecker: Just because I am the world's most uncoordinated person and have scars from head to toe, does not mean I am not brilliant. But I am only brilliant in my head. It does not extend past my neck. :)

Carlee: I was just being harassed by jealous bloggers. (*snort*) I have to make myself blog sometimes, and other times I blog so many times a day I have to resort to scheduling them so they don't look like I did them all at the same time. I'm glad you enjoy reading about all my (mis)adventures! Have I mentioned I've been experiencing goat cravings again?

  4. Goats RULE!!!! Cravings of them are natural, and not to be resisted ;-) And I happen to love your blogs! But, my goodness, don't you wear shoes when using lawn equipment?!

  5. @Jordana: I really was wearing shoes. Unfortunately, they were not high enough. I probably need a suit of armor when I work outside, otherwise I inevitably cut myself or bruise myself. And goats do rule. Even after my episode with PTBD I am still drawn to them. I have to have guidelines in place for next time however. I see a post about this in the near future.

  6. Haha! I am the ultimate clutz, like letting 2x4's fall on my head from great heights and looking behind me while walking forward and knocking down partially built walls. I wonder what would happen if we put the two of us on the farm to work together...Do you think two accident-prone woman would make one whole constructive one?

  7. I don't care what anyone says I appreciate your brilliance! Never ever have I met anyone that could be as amazing and kind of like me (uh oh!). Your brilliance should not be hidden I feel you should post as much as you want and share your brilliance with the rest of us. Trust me I Know I need it!

  8. @Jordana: We could form a Demolition Company, perhaps? But I don't think we could afford the insurance.

@B: It's amazing how you managed to combine a compliment to me and praise of yourself in the same sentence! I'm impressed! :O)

  9. Oh my gosh, I laughed so hard. That is me to a T.
I am an (educated) stay at home/homeschool mom who prefers pulling weeds, gardening, playing with goats and chickens to going to malls and having a real job. My hands, feet, legs always look like they got in a fight with farm equipment and lost yet I try to polish and trim and.....well you get the picture. Glad to know I'm not the only person out there!!!!!!

  10. @D: Are you sure we're not related? Just sisters of the soul, perhaps?

  11. I love your blog and missed it when I was on vacation the past two weeks. I was sort of disapointed that there weren't more posts to catch up on! :)

So far I'm just a farmer wannabe - but in the near future I too shall have goats (we have a rabbit already but it's a pet) and chickens and our two wolf hounds... Perhaps even a peacock!

  12. @Jilly-bear: Thanks for looking forward to reading my blog. I think that one of the neat things about building the lifestyle you want is that it's okay to be at whatever point you're at. Some people keep chickens or rabbits on the balconies of their apartments, with window boxes as their gardens. And that's just as impressive as someone who has a herd of cows and fields of crops. Each person is doing what they can and what they love. You should check out Barnheart on Facebook. It's a place for people who have farming in their heart and maybe their backyard as well. :)
